Good points Tony. But I think small town folks are bitter and angry... Keep in mind the small towns you've lived in are college towns not Roseburgs... Small towners live in "the other" America which gets the short end of the stick, but also sends their kids to Iraq more than the big cities or burbs because kids from the Groves of the world have fewer options.

Barack's mistake was an unguarded moment of telling the truth. Barack grew up in Honololulu which you know is really a series of small tightly knit ethnic neighborhoods and extended families.

The effete snob is George Will not Barack Obama. Hillary and McCain grew up in the burbs... rich white ones... Her Scranton experience she brags about means nothing... as you say. McCain grew up in Alexandria, VA and went to a private prep Episcopal prep school...

I visited my Grandfather Jacobs several times as a kid when he and my step-grandmother Ruby lived in Anacortes.

Aside from memories of the golf course they lived on and an old bowling ally on the water's edge of Puget Sound I don't remember anything about Anacortes per se - except going to a funeral home with my grandfather and seeing my first dead person... and seeing my grandfather Jacobs preach - imploring people to come up and be saved... via full immersion. It scared the hell out of me and I silently dared Go to smite me... He didn't so I concluded God didn't exist! Now I hope he/she does... DAD

Great piece on Barack... You've got it nailed here. Hillary's implicit message is that if you don't elect me - you will lose... not a positive approach (fear mongering). Barack's by contrast is if you elect me - "WE" all win (hope mongering). After last night's debate in Texas - Barack will be the nominee... all the polls are swinging his way in Texas, Ohio and even PA... By the time Oregon has it's primary on May 20th we'll just be the icing on the cake. Can I post this on my blog?

Hey Judas, Who are these affluent Christians you've been hanging with lately? What was their take on your views? Did they admit they only pay lip service to the actual ideals expressed by Jesus? You know its funny, but now that I'm graduated all people want to know is what I'm going to do to earn money. Honestly I'm not that concerned, I'm going to do what I want and hope that the money comes. Even for the finace visa one of the most important aspects is your ability to prove that you can fianancially support a wife. But let's get real, the religion of this country is the dollar. People for the most part only say they are Christian out of fear of hell and ignorance of any alternative. In our culture the label "Christian" is more important than the actual practice of ideals preached by Jesus. Good post. Jason

Well said Tony Dondero! Now that Edwards has disappointed me - I'm checking Barack out more carefully... I certainly don't want "Billary"... Good point about Lincoln!
